After realizing that Frank had noticed this historic little gem for this site, I decided to go back and re-read the Conservapedia entry that started it all.
Somehow, amidst all the excitement of learning that I had received an honorary mention by the great and powerful, (yet less biased than it's anti-American, anti-Christian, pro-gay marriage rival, Wikipedia)--Conservapedia--I must've missed perhaps the most important and crucial detail of the entire post completely!
See, the Conservapedia link goes to a page that discusses what Conservapedians feel is a popular post--their Theory of Evolution page.
Here's what they say:
Okay, so Andy has said that Theory of evolution is popular, and that that means that many people visit the article because it's so terribly awesome.
So. If it's so awesome and great, there are surely sources that say "Hey, the Evolution article on Conservapedia is cool! Go check it out!"
This is my attempt to find some of these sources.
I did a simple Google search for Conservapedia Evolution and checked the results. It's a fairly good method of determining who points to it. Not complete, but I'm not aware of a less biased or more reliable method right now. Thus, my starting point has been this page. I'll only focus on articles that actually mention the Evolution article itself (and not, for example, the Examples of Bias in Wikipedia page with its references to evolution). Order of sections is based on the Google rank - first section here had the highest rank.
1. Reddit
2. NoScope
3. On Evolution
4. Phillybits (Me...:p)
5. Cosmic Variance
6. Slashdot
7. James Randi Educational Foundation Forum
8. Seattle Post-Intelligencer
9. Everything2
10. WhyGodWontHealAmputees
11. CUTTING OFF
What follows next is a presentation of excerpts from the associated sites' posts on the Conservapedia Theory of Evolution page, which you can view by clicking any of those above links, but let me just cut straight to the end and get the wrap-up:
These were the first two results pages on Google. The number of positive comments about the evolution article is ZERO.
I'll take "Things that make you go Hmmmm..." for 800, Alex.
"Things that make you go
Hmmmm..."
I'll say!
On the Conservapedia page for
Alberto Gonzales, there is a section heading enclosed, not surprisingly, in quotation marks:
"Controversies"

And in that section, it is stated:
Alberto Gonzalez was the center of a controversy over the firings of 8 United States attorneys. Detractors insisted that the attorneys were fired for political reasons, instead of performance-based reasons (a claim that no one in the White House has ever made). Despite the fact that United States attorneys serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States, and can be fired at any time for any reason, the liberally biased media insists on calling it a scandal. So, even if the President did want to remove any United States attorney just because he or she was a Democrat, the President would be within his purview to do so. In fact, Alberto Gonzalez "tempered the White House desire to replace U.S. Attorneys wholesale." [2] During his testimony over this "Controversy", Mr. Gonzales stated 74 times that he could not recall various events relating to the situation. [3]
And yet Conservapedia doesn't notice the sheer irony of the very next section of information they provide on Gonzo:
Trivia
* Albert Gonzalez was voted the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas in 1992.
* His Secret Service nickname is "Elephant", a reference to his uncanny ability to memorize obscure parts of United States law.
And just in case you get sneaky, like you did with
Jesus' Pet Dinosaur, I've forever immortalized this little picture.

So...the Attorney General, who...in the CIA is known by the nickname "Elephant" because of his uncanny ability to remember parts of obscure US laws...
...cannot "recall",
74 times, details into the firing of 8 US Attorneys and you have the section on
Controversies encased in quotations as if the controversy itself is...
..."a controversy"?
I'm sorry, did I just "hear" you hoist yourself up on your own petard as you complained about all the instances of "bias" over at Wikipedia?
And as an added gift, there's an internal
flame war going on in Conservapedia over their Theory Of Evolution page. If you're looking for a laugh, hang out there for a few minutes. If you don't believe me, here's a sample:
Danger of spreading the Anti-Christian Message
I think that this article ignores hugely the threat that the exponents of evolution pose to God and decent Christian Americans. Even explaining evolution on this site is a bad idea, as it is a theory that makes a lot of sense, due to a lot of evidence being planted by God to test us. If people hear about evolution there is a danger that they end up understanding it and, particularly if they are scentifically minded, believing in it. Explaination of Evolution on the internet is a dangerous thing. Signed Revilo314.
