Why Was A 2 Year Old Alone In A Truck At 5am To Begin With?

None of these articles actually say the young girl was alone but the articles do say that the truck was stolen early in the morning and no mention that the parents were personally robbed or carjacked so...

...what was a two year old doing in the car at 5am by herself?

Perhaps there's more to this story to come out still that I'm not aware of but until then, that's what it sounds like.

A 2-year-old girl was found safe Sunday morning after she was abducted in her parents’ stolen truck.

Aliyah Mejia, 2, was in a maroon Nissan pick-up with a Texas license plate 926-XWJ when it was stolen this morning.

Aliyah Mejia, was in the truck when it was taken around 5 a.m. Sunday from a home in the 7000 block of Edgemoor.


Police issued an Amber Alert at 7:40 a.m.

Mejia was found abandoned in a nearby parking lot around 10:30 a.m.

Police triggered an Amber Alert for a toddler who was in a truck that was stolen this morning in southwest Houston.

Aliyah Mejia, 2, was inside her family's pickup about 5 a.m. when it was taken from the 7000 block of Edgemoor, police said.

The missing truck is a 1998 maroon Nissan pickup. It has Texas license plate 926XWJ.

Aliyah has dark, curly hair and is believed to be dressed in dark-colored clothes. There is no information about the suspect, police said.

A 2-year-old Texas girl who was inside her family's pickup truck when it was stolen early Sunday morning, was found safe behind a shopping center within seven blocks of her home, police said.

An Amber Alert was issued for Aliyah Mejia, shortly after the 5 a.m. incident.

She was found about six hours later, and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The 1998 maroon Nissan truck with Texas tags 926XWJ was taken from a location in the Edgemoor section of Houston, the Houston Chronicle reported.

HOUSTON -- An Amber Alert was issued for a 2-year-old girl after a pickup truck she was in was stolen early Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The alert was cancelled Sunday at about 10:45 a.m. when Aliyah Mejia was safely located.

Houston police said a maroon 1998 Nissan pickup truck with Texas license plate No. 926 XWJ was taken in the 7000 block of Edgemoor Drive at about 5 a.m.

Mejia was inside the truck, police said.

Investigators have not released information about the person who stole the pickup truck.
